Classmate Blog Review

For this particular assignment, me and my classmates had to critique a classmate's blog. Though all my classmates did exceptionally well on their blog, there was one classmate's blog that has a real knack for news. A classmate's blog that I really enjoyed was Elizabeth Nalley.
First and foremost, I really like how her blog is set up. The layout reminds of the news broadcast of Nightly News with Lester Holt. Her blog can seen as executive news blog. I really like as u click on each of her stories, it pops up as magazine column which is exquisite. You can really see how she weaves her narrative in her blog. Her style of writing is very descriptive and interactive. Her writing shows professionalism as you would see in newspapers articles such as The Washington Post and New York Times. The specific blog Elizabeth did very well on to me was the first blog we had to published. It was Defining News. The way Elizabeth described and interpret news was insightful. Anyone can look at Elizabeth's blog and learn a lot about news. Her blog leads a example of just as my other classmates' blog of how a news writing and reporting blog should look like. She knows good key points and details to use in her blog to create a well-mannered blog. Overall, Elizabeth's blog impressed me with her extraordinary style of writing and her aesthetic-pleasing layout.

Webster Parish non-profit director admits to stealing $1.1 million   Local Webster Parish woman who is the director of a summer feeding program for low-income children admits to stealing $1.1 million. Myrna Thomas Quarles age 59 of Cotton Valley also a North Webster High School teacher pleaded guilty in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark L. Hornsby. She is to report to court for sentencing on January 16, 2020. Quarles faces up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, a 250,000 fine and restitution.   Quarles was indicted by grand jury on five counts of theft of government property, five counts of forged securities of the states and private entities and 27 counts of money laundering. The charges for the crime arise from Quarles' position as director of Greater Horizons Developmental Services, a organization based in Webster Parish. When you think of news, what might come to mind? Could it be 1. A reporter standing in the middle of disastrous scene. 2. A app telling you the latest info on the world. Or 3. A newspaper article lying on your kitchen table. The answer is all of the above. News is all around us. Everywhere we turn, when we wake up, when we look on our phones, and when we close our eyes. News is on television, social media, newspapers, magazines and radio. When u think of news, u probably think of the textbook or dictionary definition. Generally, news is defined newly received or noteworthy information, especially about recent or important events (Google Dictionary). News is something journalists and reporters thrive on. When I think how to define news, I think of developing information to the vast majority as quickly as possible. News can be interpreted many ways. News can be heartfelt or heartbreaking.
